Lorsqu'on demandait a Robert Plant le sens de cette chanson, il répondait qu'il n'y en avait pas, qu'ils étaient défoncés a la marocaine quand ils l'ont écrite (ce qui explique le coté décousu de la chanson). Cependant on y voit une critique du matérialisme et du pouvoir de l'argent (La lady croit pouvoir acheter son droit d'aller au paradis par l'escalier).
   A noter l'expression "to be a rock and not to roll" : rester fort, ne pas rouler, ne pas se laisser avoir par le coté superficiel qu'ont parfois les choses

Pour commencer, l'histoire du rock vue par AC/DC:
